Spring Cleaning

As I work on the garden, the garden works on me.

Help us get the garden ready for the year while enjoying conversation with other herbalists — and snacking on some herbal treats.  Bring along containers for taking home transplants that need to be "managed."

Wednesay, April 27 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. (or until we're done)

Check back closer to the date for more details.

Contact me to set up a time to meet at the garden or at my house.  Bring containers for transporting your plants.  I'll do the digging while you do the labeling and organizing in your containers.

There is no set price for the plants. Just as with the You-Pick Medicinal Herbs Garden, a freewill donation is appreciated and will be put right back into the garden itself.

Bark Gathering

Spring is bark gathering time!

The best time to gather bark is before the trees and shrubs leaf out or sap starts running, because this is when the energy of the plant is strongest in its bark.  This is especially important for oak trees, to also avoid spreading oak wilt disease.

There is plenty of prickly ash bark available at the site of the You-Pick Medicinal Herbs Garden.  If you would like to gather some bark, let me know a few days and times that work for you and I'm sure we can arrange it.
