Looking ahead to this week, I realized there are a few things some of you might appreciate knowing about.
Mushrooms: Danny Hill, local guy who worked at Open Hands Farm, is cultivating mushrooms and has oyster mushrooms for sale right now. ½ lb. for $7, 1 lb. for $13. Let me know if you want any and I can have them available for you to pick up at my house or give you his contact info. I think he may have lion's mane and reishi available at some point. And he's simply a nice guy, too!
Beeswax: Jenny, from Homestead Apiaries outside of Dennison, is selling 1 lb. blocks of beeswax for $8. I have 3 extra blocks available right now if you want any. It is very lovely beeswax! Also available are 10 lb. pails of raw honey for $45.
Plants: Weeding is almost done at the garden. If you are interested, there are plants available for transplanting to your yard! Check the What's Available page for that info.
The weather looks so lovely this week! I'm planning on hanging out at the farm the following times if anyone is interested in joining me there for gathering or just chatting.
Tuesday, July 28, 1:30 - 5:30
Wednesday, July 29, 10:00 - 12:00
Thursday, July 30, 1:30 - 6:00
Note: I'll bring the beeswax that I have along. Danny's mushrooms will be available on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon as an add-on in conjunction with the CSA pick up times.
Please let me know if you would like to meet me there at a different time - my week is wide open. Other than during Twins games, that is. Go Twins!
