Wild Ones / Northfield Prairie Partners is holding their annual plant sale fundraiser on Saturday, May 18,
9 AM - 3 PM at 712 North Linden Street, Northfield, MN (using parking lot of Emmaus Church).
I went for the first time last year and was overwhelmed, in a very good way, with the variety and quality of plants they offered. According to their advertising, they have "an eclectic collection of garden divisions, vegetable starts, herbs, small trees and shrubs"
Nancy Schumacher, retired grower/proprietor of The Vagary is heading it up and is donating "a strong selection of native species", along with other members who offer both common and uncommon prairie and garden plants, many of which are considered to have medicinal benefits.
I was so impressed last year, that I even became a member of our local group. And in my opinion, it is worthy of a drive down from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
And, as a "bonus", I'm going to open my house for an 11:30 potluck type lunch at my house, 512 Ivanhoe Avenue, just a block away from the sale. If you would like to join us, please RSVP so I will have space ready.
